What Is Worship?
Worship is a vitally important time in which we give God praise, thanks, devotion, and much more. In our worship, we seek to recognize and please God. As New Testament Christians, our worship is modeled after the commands and practices that are found in the New Testament.
In our worship services, we worship by:
Praying — In prayer, we communicate directly to God, giving thanks and letting our petitions known to him.
(1 Timothy 2:8; 1 John 5:14)Teaching — Christians are instructed to teach and share the good news of Christ. This teaching and preaching is foundational to conversion and discipleship.
(Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Timothy 4:13; 2 Timothy 4:2)Singing — We practice congregational “a-capella” singing.
(Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16)Lord’s Supper — We partake in the Lord’s Supper every Sunday to commemorate Christ’s sacrifice.
(Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 11:24-25)Giving — Every Sunday, we give as we have prospered to fund and enable the Church's good works.
(1 Corinthians 16:2)
