What Are the Churches of Christ?
We live in a religiously divided world. There are countless “flavors” of Christianity, so what makes the churches of Christ different? The churches of Christ are not a denomination, but rather a restoration.
The churches of Christ simply teach and practice the things found in the Word of God. We reject man-made notions of religion, and seek to practice Christianity in its simplicity as it was intended to be practiced by Jesus Christ and his inspired apostles. We do not recognize any creeds or church constitutions aside from the Bible.
This means that church of Christ congregations are autonomous (self governed) with local Elders and Deacons leading and serving the congregation. We emphasize the value of Biblical worship as it was originally practiced and how God intended it to be. We also recognize the importance of Christlikeness in both our word and conduct.
